Rapper Young Buck has said repeatedly that 50 Cent and his other former g-Unit compatriots have blacklisted him in the wake of his defection from the hip hop crew. He recently told VIBE that he has been given the cold shoulder by legendary producer Dr. Dre and superstar Eminem also. G-Unit was, until very recently, affiliated with Dre and Em’s Shady/Aftermath imprint at Interscope Records.

“Dr. Dre is an individual who I wish I heard from at some point in time because his voice in my situation would means a lot. He don’t have to on my side or [50 Cent's] side, but just say something, bro. I even told Game to say ‘what’s up’ to Dre for me, but I haven’t heard anything..I haven’t received an email or spoken to Dre in three years,” Buck said. “I haven’t heard from Dr. Dre or Eminem… not to say my situation is any part of their business but at a point in time I was sitting in front of these dudes. And I’m not looking for them to take sides or anything, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what is being done to me from their artist.”

Young Buck was recently raided by the IRS and has experienced serious difficulty in getting his rap career back off the ground in the wake of his alleged blacklisting. Hip hop legend Ice Cube has also recently spoken about Dr. Dre’s silence regarding the two former NWA bandmates working together on Cube’s album.

Rapper Young Buck had his Nashville home raided by the federal government on Tuesday morning (Aug. 3) over a $300,000 past tax bill. Armed with shotguns, the agents entered Buck’s home forcibly and seized recording recording equipment, jewelry, furniture, and his platinum plaques, according to a statement released by the rapper’s camp.

“The worst part of this isn’t the material stuff–that will all be replaced. It’s what it does to the people around me. They took my kids’ Playstation, my assistants’ computers, and baby’s mothers’ jewelry. They took my home studio so I can’t even record,” the statement said. “”I have a new team in place, but I am also paying full attention now. Nothing like this will ever happen again. This is a huge wake up call for all entertainers to stay on top of your own trusted employees and team members, and replace anyone that was put in place by your record label if the situation you have goes sour,? he explained. :This IRS situation came about because I trusted accountants, lawyers, and managers to handle my business for me while I focused on making music. From now on, I am going to stay on top of my own business.”

The raid on Buck’s home is the latest in a string of tax-related problems many rappers have faced in recent months. It was revealed earlier this year that the I.R.S. has created a special unit to monitor entertainers’ income and assets.

50 Cent Trying to “Destroy” Young Buck?

Former G-Unit Member Says His Career Is Suffering

Former G-Unit member Young Buck revealed in a recent interview that he and his former friend/bandmate 50 Cent are still at odds, and that 50 Cent is working diligently to ruin Buck’s career. Since Buck was kicked out of G-Unit in 2008, the Memphis-born rapper and his former crew have been feuding. Now, 50 is allegedly using Buck’s contractual obligations to prevent him from working with other artists in the industry. “His reaction, being so harsh, is to basically stall me out to a position where I lose everything, to where my numbers drop,” Young Buck said in a recent interview with Nashville Scene. “Because if you don’t have a new product out, then you can’t go get the big dollar for your shows. [He wants] to pretty much destroy my life from a silent-sided way of doing things. That’s his angle, and my contracts allow him to be able to do that.”

The blacklisting is costing Young Buck money, though the rapper still releases mixtapes and makes appearances to keep himself in the public eye. “The problem is, I go to be a feature on [an artist's] hit record, and then they have to go to 50 Cent to clear me on the record, and he says, ‘No.’ And they’re looking like, ‘Well, damn’ ? cause if it wasn’t for that I would probably be on every record that’s out right now, cause everybody and their mama reaches out and gives me support.”
