Mary J. Blige Banks $2.3 Million Selling My Life Fragrance On HSN

Mary J. Blige spent Saturday on HSN, selling a staggering 50,000 bottles of her My Life Mary J. Blige Eau de Parfum, which included a clutch set. The fragrance and bag were only available on HSN for the day, costing $46.00. One dollar for each order was donated by HSN to support FFAWN’s work to empower women in their personal and professional lives. So while Mary J. banked likely a large percentage of that $2.3 million in sales for the very high profit margin product, the $50,000 HSN donated to FFAWN was the focus of her updates to her Twitter followers (@maryjblige). She writes:

I know it’s early but I’m on hsn at 10am through the rest of the day so I’m getting ready 4 that. It’s gonna be a long day.

For my fam that’s late, I launched my fragrance on hsn this morning, it’s called My Life and I’ll be on all day!

$7 Million Settlement For Sean Bell Family

Victim’s Estate Wins Civil Suit Against NYPD

Yesterday a $7 million settlement was finalized by a judge in Brooklyn Federal Court for the family of Sean Bell against the New York City police department. Sean Bell’s estate will receive $3.25 million. Also, Joseph Guzman, a friend of Bell that was wounded too, will get $3 million. Trent Benefield, another friend wounded in the hail of police bullets will get $900,000. “The Seal Bell shooting highlighted the complexities our dedicated officers must face each day.” Michael Cardozo, the city?s corporation counsel. “The city regrets the loss of life in this tragic case, and we share our deepest condolences with the Bell family. We hope that all the parties can find some measure of closure by this settlement,” he said.

NYPD officers shot over 50 bullets at Bell and his friends when the men were out celebrating for his bachelor party. The police were both plainclothes and uniformed.

Chris Tucker Owes IRS $11 Million

Actor Owes Federal Taxes From 2001-2006

Funnyman Chris Tucker is in hot water with the IRS. The Rush Hour star reportedly owes the Internal Revenue Service $11,571,909.26. According to documents filed, Tucker has unpaid taxes for the years 2001, 2002 and 2004 through 2006 in the following amounts:

2001 ? $4,007,794.34
2002 ? $5,060,074.23
2004 ? $55,544.84
2005 ? $660,414.94
2006 ? $1,788,080.91

Tucker already had a lien against him filed by the state of California for not paying his state taxes during that same time span.
